Bio
Lizbeth Villalobos started her career in the performing arts at the age of four. From then on, her passion for the arts grew. She has trained in ballet, jazz, lyrical, modern, contemporary, tap, and hip hop. In addition to dance, she fell in love with soccer at an early age and continued to pursue both activities throughout her childhood and adolescent years. She began her color guard journey with Poway High School and quickly fell in love. From then on she became dedicated to the activity and was driven to learn all she could, get the most out of it, and now, to give back.
Upon graduating, she joined the San Diego State University Marching Aztecs Fall Guard and Aztec Winter Guard. Here she continued to excel and quickly took on leadership positions including Equipment Manager, Vice President of Marketing, and then Captain. While pursuing her Bachelor of Arts in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies from California State University San Marcos, she dedicated her free time and energy to helping grow and improve the program at State. In 2019, she transitioned from a performer to being a part of the coaching staff. In this role, not only did she support the performers with their growth in the activity, she also contributed to their leadership and personal development as well.
After completing her undergraduate degree in May 2022 on the Dean’s list and as a part of the Tau Sigma National Honor Society, she was excited to join the Independent World team Fantasia Winter Guard. When the former program director at State stepped down, Lizbeth was thrilled to take the reins and continue to push this program to pursue excellence in all areas. In addition to her previous roles coaching at various high schools in the San Diego area, she utilizes the skills she developed in college and at State to support the students and her fellow staff members. With a desire to have all members feel seen in their full self expression and a drive for high achievement, Lizbeth’s hope and goal is for all who participate in the program to grow and develop in a welcoming space and nurturing environment.
