Tohbias Juniel is entering his first year with the San Diego State University marching percussion program. Tohbias is a nationally recognized percussion clinician, writer, and performer. His appearance on the world’s stage was made as a 12-year-old performing with percussion legend William Ludwig Jr. In 2011 Tohbias was featured in Modern Drummer magazine and was personally acknowledged by Fred Gretsch as, “… part of the future of percussion.”

A student of music, Tohbias studied at the Denver School of the Arts before continuing his education at the University of Colorado at Boulder and Metropolitan State University of Denver. Tohbias has marched, taught, and written for world-class drum and bugle corps, independent world class percussion ensembles, collegiate percussion ensembles, as well as several scholastic concert and marching units. He is an alumnus of the Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps, Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps, and Blue Knights Percussion Ensemble. Tohbias returned to the Troopers as the associate caption head before assuming position of battery caption head and arranger for Blue Knights percussion ensemble.

Tohbias continues to travel and perform with many of today’s top recording artists. In his hometown of Denver, Tohbias serves as a mentor/clinician with several youth organizations to encourage and support positive decisions of young people involved in the arts. These attributes come with continuously adding symphonic, pit orchestra, composition, and film scoring credits to his name. In the winter of 2011, Tohbias became the founder and CEO of DC Global Entertainment, a Colorado-based events production company designed to build bridges through performing arts with the constant intent to increase the knowledge and quality of the arts. Tohbias is a proud endorser of Yamaha Percussion, Sabian Cymbals and Pro-Mark Drumsticks.
