Bio
Nicole Chung was born in Seoul, Korea and began playing the cello at the age of seven. She holds an Artist Diploma from the University of Colorado Boulder, a Master’s degree from the Eastman School of Music, and a Bachelor of Music from the University of Michigan. Her principal teachers include David Requiro, Steven Doane, Rosemary Elliott, and Richard Aaron. Nicole performed with the San Diego Symphony during the 2024–2025 season and continues to appear with the symphony. Her greatest passion lies in teaching, where she enjoys using creativity and problem solving to connect technical development with expressive musical ideas. She emphasizes strong technical fundamentals while shaping her approach to support the unique musical and learning styles of each student.
