Bio

As a film orchestrator, Jon Kull has worked on nearly 250 titles with many of the top composers in Hollywood, including James Horner (Avatar, Troy), Ludwig Göransson (Sinners, Black Panther, The Mandalorian), James Newton Howard (The Hunger Games, Fantastic Beasts, Maleficent), and Elmer Bernstein (The Deep End of the Ocean, Twilight). His composition credits include a new score for the Buster Keaton comedy The Goat (1921), which was commissioned and performed live to picture by the Dallas Chamber Symphony. Other feature film original score credits include Lone Wolf, Retribution, Be Somebody, and festival favorite The Real Old Testament. Kull has composed a large catalog of production music that is heard daily in theatrical trailers and network promos in the U.S. and worldwide. He has also written music for commercials, among them spots for Neutrogena, J.C. Penney, and Canon. His recorded arrangements cover an impressive array of styles: classical, featuring Kathleen Battle and Christopher Parkening (Angels’ Glory); popular, with Neil Diamond (The Movie Album); and specialty works such as Yiddish Theatre songs (among them the crossover hit,“Bay mir bistu sheyn”) for the Milken Archive’s ambitious recording project dedicated to the preservation of American Jewish music. He is also experienced as a session conductor in every genre of music.
