Fall 2025 Entrance Auditions
Undergraduates must apply online at CalState Apply by December 2 for Fall admission.
Applying to San Diego State University:
The School of Music and Dance will notify students who have applied to SDSU to complete the School of Music and Dance online audition and application. All degree and non-degree programs in the School of Music and Dance require a performance audition or portfolio/paper submission in addition to the regular university application process. Audition applications are due by January 15, 2025.
NOTE: Applicants to Global Composition (GC) and Music Recording Technology and Audio Design (MRTAD) have no live audition, and are subject to a separate application deadline. All application materials for these two majors only are due, via interfolio, no later than February 1, 2025.

- Dance Auditions: February 1, 2025 and February 2, 2025 from 10am-3pm
- Music Auditions: February 1 and 2, February 8 and February 9, 2025
- Brass auditions will only be held on Saturday, February 1st (French horns, Tuba, Trumpet, Euphonium, Trombone) Sunday, February 2nd (Tuba, Trumpet, Euphonium, Trombone) Sunday, February 9th (Trumpet, Euphonium, Trombone)
- Percussion auditions will only be held on Saturday, February 1st and Sunday, February 9th
- Woodwind auditions will only be held on Saturday, February 1st and Sunday, February 2nd
- Jazz auditions will only be held on Saturday, February 1st; Sunday, February 2nd; Saturday, February 8th and Sunday, February 9th
- Piano auditions will only be held on Saturday, February 1st; Sunday, February 2nd and Sunday, February 9th
- Vocal auditions will be held on Saturday, February 1st; Sunday, February 2nd; Saturday, February 8th and Sunday, February 9th
