Bio

Andrea Suhadolnik is a dance educator with the San Diego Unified School District. Currently on faculty at Creative, Performing & Media Arts Middle School, she teaches Modern, Jazz, Tap, Ballet, and culturally rooted dance styles. She brings her over 30 years of experience teaching dance in K-12 public and independent school settings to the new Dance Education degree program at SDSU. 

After completing her own degree at SDSU, Ms. Suhadolnik continued her training and performing in Paris, France. While serving as the team leader at the San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts, she led the development of the department's vision and mission, founded the Students with Disabilities Task Force on campus, and wrote the curriculum for piloted courses to expand the dance offerings within the district. She is a frequent guest artist for the National and Regional High School Dance Festivals. She has served on many boards for the district and state. For the state of California, she serves on the Subject Matter Requirements panel for the CSET in Dance. At the National level, she has worked with the National Dance Education Organization on their Justice, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion programs audit for which she received the NDEO Presidential Award. Ms. Suhadolnik is proud to be an alumna of SDSU and was honored in 2018 to be awarded the SDSU Dance Alumni of the Year. 

With a commitment to fostering inclusive and supportive learning environments, Ms. Suhadolnik guides students through the development of their unique teaching styles, while also emphasizing the integration of teaching theories and practices. Ms. Suhadolnik is passionate about shaping the next generation of dance educators and artists and helping them to find their unique path in the ever-evolving world of dance.
