WOODWIND INSTRUMENTS

flute close

The Woodwind Division is dedicated to training students at the highest level of musicianship as well as emphasizing a strong background in methodology and solo performance. The Division’s faculty members include distinguished soloists, educators, and principal chair holders in the San Diego Symphony Orchestra, ProMusica Chamber Orchestra, as well as members of the SWARMIUS Ensemble, La Jolla Music Festival, and Art of Élan.

As a woodwind major at SDSU, you will work closely with our dedicated faculty members and enjoy ample performance opportunities in several ensembles including the Wind Symphony, Symphony Orchestra, and smaller mixed ensembles. Master classes with guest ensembles, solo artists, and educators augment and enrich our student’s musical experiences and ideas.
