Dance studio


Studio Theatre (Studio 200)

This facility provides an intimate venue to showcase dance performances by students, faculty, and visiting dance artists.  With telescoping and floor level seating, the Studio Theatre accommodates approximately 95 audience members.  It is equipped with theatrical drapes, Marley dance floor, sound system, theatrical lighting system, green room, makeup room and a control booth.  The Studio Theatre serves as the performance venue for Senior Dance Concerts, University Dance Company and other performances presented by alumni, local, or touring dance companies.


Studio 380

Studio 380 is an open space frequently used for techniques classes, rehearsals and student practice.  Inside Studio 380 is the Pliates Reformer Room.


Pilates Reformer Room

Pilates reformers are available for student use under the supervision of faculty. Completion of certain coursework is required before students may utilize the Pilates equipment.


M20 Studio

Located in the Music Building, this multi-purpose space is used for techniques classes, rehearsals and student practice.


Smith Recital Hall

The J. Dayton Smith Recital Hall is the principal performance space for most music performances in the School of Music and Dance and seats approximately 300 audience members. Also utilized by dance, it has a fully computerized theatrical lighting system, side lighting trees, theatrical drapes, front curtain, Marley floor, and cyclorama. In addition there is a state of the art sound system and recording studio.
