The SDSU Vocal Arts Division is dedicated to training singers at the highest level of artistic achievement in an environment created to give a unique and personal experience to each student. All students are offered free weekly private lessons taught by faculty members with impressive performance and pedagogical attainments. Students take classes covering vocal pedagogy, performance readiness, foreign language diction, art song repertoire and musicianship.
It is our goal to connect academia to the professional world at every stage of learning. Our students are given numerous opportunities to perform in weekly recitals and concerts, master classes taught by visiting artists, large and small choral ensembles, and in both opera scenes programs and full-scale opera productions. Our faculty members are renowned in the areas of performance ad pedagogy and have received their training at some of the world’s most prestigious music schools.
