The School of Music and Dance is grateful to its many donors, friends, and supporters who help sustain its excellent programs in music and dance. The next generation of talented performing artists is actively pursuing their career dreams through their performance experiences, academic preparation, and dedicated individual practice while enrolled at San Diego State.
How can you support our efforts? Here are just a few opportunities. . .
Friends of Music & Dance at San Diego State University are a group of alumni, parents and friends who are committed to quality educational opportunities in the arts at SDSU. As a contributor to Friends of Music & Dance, you provide critical financial support to students of Music and Dance at San Diego State University. Contributions at all levels are welcome and are used to attract top talent from the region by funding scholarships and student enrichment packages.
Establish a scholarship in your name or to honor an individual or group with a three-year commitment of $5,000 or more per year.
Establish an endowed fund that will support students in perpetuity. This can be done on two levels, gifts from $25,000-$49,999 designated to the School of Music and Dance or, establish a Named Endowed Scholarship with a minimum gift of $50,000.
We are seeking funding to help support students in their professional development beyond the SDSU campus. These funds can be used to promote students’ study abroad (a requirement in our music performance curriculum), conduct scholarly field research, attend professional conferences, and a host of other academically-based activities that serve to showcase our best students. Gifts from all levels are welcome.
Support an individual artist or group as they further their studies in the Master or Graduate Artist’s Diploma program at SDSU. This program provides tuition assistance and career development opportunities to graduate-level students who intend to pursue professional performance careers.
Program funds are held in reserve by the Director for use in supporting special projects, partnerships with professional arts organizations, tours, or other program related expenditures that promote excellence, advance the School’s standing the in music and/or dance profession, and that may occur on short notice.
