Jazz Ensembles

The School of Music and Dance’s highly regarded jazz program offers experience in a number of performing ensembles for jazz studies majors and other qualified students.

Large Jazz Ensembles

Full big band consisting of five saxophones, four or five trumpets, four trombones, piano, guitar, bass and drums.

Jazz Guitar Ensemble

An ensemble focusing on repertoire for like instruments in the jazz idiom.

Jazz Combos

Combos generally have two to three wind instruments and a full rhythm section of piano, bass, guitar and drums.
