- Faculty and staff shall observe professional and personal confidentiality and exhibit discretion when discussing peer and student issues.

- Faculty and staff interaction will be based on a mutually beneficial outcome and include constructive dialogue.
- Faculty and staff shall not engage in the discrimination or persistent vexation of colleagues.
- While individuals may disagree, they will respect and defend the free inquiry and opinions of colleagues and they will support their academic freedom.
- Faculty and staff are expected to be objective in their professional judgment of colleagues.
- Faculty will be accountable for their share of faculty responsibilities for the governance of the School.
When a student needs to resolve a question, concern, or issue with any faculty or staff member they should adhere to the following guidelines.
- All first discussions should be directed to the faculty or staff member involved.
- If not resolved to the mutual agreement of both parties then the student should bring the issue to the Director of the School of Music & Dance.
- If not resolved the student can then bring their concerns to the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs for the College of Professional Studies and Fine Arts.
- If still not resolved then the student may contact the Office of the Ombudsman.
At each level of discussion both the student and the faculty or staff member shall treat each other with respect and exhibit discretion by keeping the subject matter confidential.
Faculty, staff, and students shall maintain a positive and optimistic professional attitude that promotes the School of Music & Dance at all times.
