ACADEMIC PROGRAMS

Career Options in Dance and Music

The dance and music professions are challenging and highly competitive fields of endeavor.  The School of Music and Dance faculty, all of whom are active professionals in these disciplines, know what it takes to be successful and are committed to helping students identify and achieve their goals.

The opportunities for persons holding degrees in music or dance are limited only by the ambition and level of dedication of each individual.  The focused study, discipline, critical thinking skills and creative learning processes needed to be successful in a dance or music degree program are valued in a wide range of professional fields, not just the arts.  Individuals who can synthesize, think creatively, be innovative and who are capable of approaching problem solving from many perspectives (all hallmarks of training in music and dance) are highly prized.

DANCE

The School of Music and Dance offers undergraduate programs designed to prepare students for careers as performers, choreographers and professional opportunities related to dance.  Under the guidance of our excellent faculty, talented students develop aesthetic, technical, and critical skills through the art form of modern dance.  Degree offerings include the Bachelor of Arts and the professional Bachelor of Fine Arts in dance.  For specific information about degree offerings or a minor in dance, click the link below.
