John Wilds is principal trumpet with the San Diego Opera Orchestra. He also performs principal trumpet with the San Diego Chamber Orchestra and is second trumpet with the San Diego Symphony. Mr. Wilds has recorded on the EMI, RCA, Naxos and Koch International labels. Wilds has been a member of the Westwind Brass Quintet, Ensemble in Residence at SDSU, since 1996. Additional performance credits include the San Francisco Symphony and Los Angeles Philharmonic, and prior to joining the San Diego Symphony he held the principal trumpet chair in the New Mexico Symphony. John Wilds studied at Central Washington University and the Indiana School of Music.
