Director/Producer of SDSU Opera Theater since 1996, Evans-O’Connor’s production credits include major works such as The Secret Marriage, The Tender Land, The Mikado, The Beggar’s Opera, The Goldoliers, The Marriage of Figaro, Street Scene, as well as numerous one-act operas and opera scenes productions and training courses. A longtime education staff member at San Diego Opera, Kellie is Director/Coordinator of the “Opera for kids by kids” residency program and previously wrote for & directed the Touring Ensemble. Author and adapter of many educational opera programs, her award-winning Let"s Cook Up an Opera! has been produced by Cincinnati Opera and San Diego Opera. Other directing credits include Opera Pacific’s Overture Company, Des Moines Metro Opera, Opera San Jose, San Antonio Symphony Opera, Hidden Valley Opera, and locally for San Diego Repertory Theater and Lyric Opera San Diego. Ms. Evans-O’Connor also has an extensive resume of performance credits from standard operatic repertoire to contemporary music theatre works, including work on several world premieres.
