
The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance (BFA)
The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance provides professional preparation for dance majors in choreography, performance, scholarship and teaching; more specifically as choreographers and dancers with professional modern dance companies, teachers in community and recreational programs, schools and colleges, movement educators, and candidates for graduate work in dance scholarship. Auditions are held in January/February of the previous year for entering students and in the second week of classes for in-school students wishing to change their major or minor.
The Bachelor of Arts in Dance (BA)
The Bachelor of Arts in Dance is a liberal arts degree for those students who seek an understanding of and an intimate orientation to the discipline of dance without professional goals. Auditions are held in January/February of the previous year for entering students and in the second week of classes for in-school students wishing to change their major or minor.
The Dance Minor
Students from other majors may select a minor in dance by completing the 24 required units. Auditions are held in January/February of the previous year for entering students and in the second week of classes for in-school students wishing to change their major or minor.
