The SDSU Symphony Orchestra's repertoire is representative of many musical styles and historical periods. The program offerings are carefully balanced to provide performers and audiences alike with a wide and varied selection of musical works. Standard orchestral literature is also included in order that the students may build the performance and stylistic experience necessary to pursue a career in music. Membership in the Symphony Orchestra is open to any qualified musician. Both full and part-time students in all areas of study, and interested members of the community encouraged to audition. Auditions are held the first week of both the fall and spring semesters.
