Mary Gerard, viola, holds a certificate from the Dreilinden Music Conservatory in Lucerne, Switzerland and a B.A. and M.A. from San Diego State University. Among her teachers are Nick Stamon of San Diego, Gilbert Bach of the Berlin and Los Angeles Philharmonic, Rafael Druian, concertmaster of the New York Philharmonic, and Gerhard Hetzel, concertmaster of Vienna Philharmonic. Gerard has played with the San Diego Symphony, both first violin and viola, the San Diego Opera, Starlight Opera, and the La Jolla and San Diego Chamber Orchestra. Gerard teaches violin and viola privately, conducts the Fiddle n’ Bow Orchestra for Young Artists Organization and coaches young chamber music groups. |
