PERFORMER'S CERTIFICATE
 

The School of Music and Dance is proud to offer a Performer's Certificate open to both matriculated and non-matriculated students who do not possess a University degree.

 
To be eligible, students must have a high school diploma and have TOEFL and academic scores that allow them to be CSU eligible. In addition, students must pass an audition and take placement tests in Music Theory/Aural Skills and Music History and submit a one-page “Statement of Purpose.” Voice students must be at least 21 years of age.

2-3 units selected from M151, 308A, 308B, 408A, 408B (Music History)

3 units selected from M170-M389 (Ensembles)

6 units selected from M205A, 205B, 305A, 305B, 405A, 405B (Music Theory)

6 units of M250 (Private Instruction)

A full-length qualifying public solo recital

3 units selected from M370-389 (Ensembles)

6 units of M450 (Private Instruction)

2 units M515 (Professional Orientation)

2 units M516 (Performance Forum)

2 units M554 (Music Literature)

3-4 units of music electives

A full-length public graduation recital
