Xiaoyang Zhao

Chinese Baritone XiaoYang Zhao currently is in the Artist Diploma Advanced Certificate program at the School of Music & Dance at San Diego State University where studies voice with Ms. Mary Mackenzie. Before moving to San Diego, he graduated from the University of London with the Master of Music in Performance. He also studied voice at the Conservatory of Music, Northeast Normal University in China where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Music in 2001. He has given voice recitals in both China and England during his studies. He also has been invited by several famous Chinese musicians to perform as a guest singer in their concerts. He won the Best Singer Award in the Young Artist Competition of China in 2000 and the Encouragement Award from the Singing Competition of the Asian Music Festival in Shanghai in 1999.
