Bryan
K. Ransom has been involved with the University Bands at San Diego State
since 1987. Ensembles currently under his direction / coordination at
SDSU include the Marching Aztecs, Pep Band (Men's Basketball Band) Varsity
Band (Women's Basketball Band) and Concert Band. In his administrative
role, Mr. Ransom is in charge of the day to day operations of all six
University Bands and the Orchestra, with responsibilities that include
budget management, travel arrangements, recruitment, and support staff
supervision.
Mr. Ransom received both his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music and Professional
Teaching Credential from San Diego State University.
In addition to his responsibilities with the University, he is employed
by the San Diego Chargers of the
National Football League as their On-Field Entertainment Coordinator.
Other entertainment coordination and production credits include Super
Bowl Pregame, Halftime, and Postgame shows, Major League Baseball All-Star
game and Opening Day Ceremonies, and various NCAA Championships events.
He has provided marching instruction, visual coordination, and percussion
arrangements for several San Diego area high schools, and is in demand
as an adjudicator at high school band competitions throughout the Western
States. His marching band / drumline arrangements have been published
by Mesa Music Publishing, Matrix Publishing, and Jalen Publishing. Mr.
Ransom performs extensively as a percussionist at various musical theater
venues throughout San Diego County, and provides services as Orchestra
Coordinator for Moonlight Stage
Productions. Mr. Ransom is also an active Administration Staff member
with San Diego's Esperanza Performing
Arts Association. The Esperanza Drum and Bugle Corps earned the distinction
of becoming the 2003 Drum Corps International Division II World Champions.
